However, it is incredibly janky in the latter format, with some things not orienting properly, menus being out of place, etc. I've tried emulating a X360 controller but that didn't work either. Yea I know I’m a year late, but on Rift it is definitely possible to play in VR, both on VR Desktop, and in the typical sense. The left thumbstick shifted left and right when I pushed it up and down and the right thumbstick seemed very strange in the sense that I could press it down and the menu would respond by pressing down as well, but it would automatically bump itself back up again no matter what I did unless I held it down in which case it would go all the way down and respond to the input until I stopped holding down then it'd revert back to going up automatically. The game keeps running and I can look around with the Oculus, but I couldnt move or interact. HTC Vive Support is not yet fully built into the game. However, using a mouse in VR is not ideal. It really felt like I was really stranded on an Ocean world fighting to survive. The sense of scale and immersion was incredible. I calibrated it and all seemed to be fine outside of Subnautica. 02:40 This article is about the HTC Vive. Even with a wireless xbox controller and horrible performance as the game progressed the original Subnautica in VR was one of my most memorable, exciting and atmospeheric VR games I have ever played. Relaunced the game in VR and that seems to have fixed the controller issues. I solved my problem by starting the game up in non VR mode then set the game to run in a window and not full screen. I just bought the game for the first time and I wanted to get into it since I've loved just about every survival game I've played.
